Services We Provide
Chiropractic Care
As primary health professionals in Ontario, Chiropractors use a non-invasive, hands on approach to evaluate, diagnose and effectively treat conditions related to our nerves, muscles and joints. As musculoskeletal experts, we use the best available evidence and clinical expertise to evaluate and diagnose issues that affect the way your body moves. It is important to note, as chiropractors we are able to treat all the joints in your body, not just the back and neck.
We are so much more than a quick crack, snap, pop!
Common conditions treated:
- Neck Pain
- Back Pain
- Headaches/Migraines
- Concussions
- Arthritis
- Rotator Cuff Injury
- Jaw Pain
- Post-Surgical Discomfort
- Sports Injury
- Repetitive Sprains/Strains
- Whiplash
At A1, our chiropractors are trained professionals who use spinal and extremity manipulation and mobilization techniques, muscle release techniques, impulse manipulation, ultrasound therapy, rehabilitation therapy and contemporary medical acupuncture, to help you feel at your best. We believe no two people are alike and for that reason, each patient is given an individualized treatment plan, best suited to their needs and lifestyle.
Contemporary Medical Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a technique performed with the insertion of fine solid acupuncture needles into anatomically specific sites. These needles are used to target muscles, nerves and joints, with the goal of reducing pain and stiffness, and improving overall function. Electrical stimulation may or may not be used, at the discretion of the practitioner. When used, electrical stimulation has strong therapeutic benefits in modulating abnormal activity of our nervous system.
Some of the many benefits of acupuncture include:
- Decrease pain and inflammation
- Increase circulation and tissue healing
- Muscle relaxation
- Increased range of motion
- Pain transmission interruption to the brain
- Improved muscle activation
A1 acupuncture is performed by our chiropractors, and used as an adjunct for the treatment of many conditions. Dr. Insley will determine the need for acupuncture and educate the patient on its use prior to performing. Due to the degree of precision used while performing acupuncture and the length of time stimulation is needed to be beneficial, appointments are booked in longer time slots and must be arranged accordingly at reception.
Rehabilitation Therapy
Rehabilitation therapy is an adjunct therapy used by many different health practitioners. Rehab typically refers to assisting an individual to achieve a prior level of functioning. Often used in postsurgical cases, today’s evidence strongly supports the use of specified rehabilitation therapy; pre surgery, post injury, to optimize everyday movements and/or relieve chronic stressors.
Rehabilitation therapy comes in many different formats, as seen below:
- Athletic Movement Assessments (including gait and running assessments)
- Spinal and extremity mobility
- Strength training
- Endurance training
- Muscle activation
- Balance
- Return to play or work assessments
At A1, our practitioners incorporate a form of rehabilitation therapy into each patient’s treatment plan, that of which best suits their goals, needs and lifestyle. We also offer in house training, one on one rehab specific appointments, and movement assessments with a practitioner. We strongly believe in the power of good quality movement, and taking the time to educate our patients in such to help them optimize their treatment goals.
Registered Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are trained professionals who treat the soft tissues of our body, including muscles, connective tissues, ligaments, tendons and joints, to help alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday occupational stresses, muscular over use and many chronic pain conditions.
At A1, our massage therapists will tailor a treatment to best suit your needs. Whether it’s a chronic injury, acute flare up or need for relaxation, the RMT will treat accordingly.

She has recently gone on to complete additional training in the field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy through the International Association of Orofacial Myology and RDHU. Kinesiologists work to:
- Assess and identify postural imbalances.
- Evaluate muscle strength and joint mobility.
- Detect joint dysfunction.
- Determine muscle imbalances.
- Prescribe targeted exercises for rehabilitation.
- Enhance athletic performance by optimizing movement patterns and reducing the risk of injuries.
